What Are Dental Implants?
Dentures are devices used to replace missing teeth. Dentures can be made either full or partial. Full dentures are required when all of the teeth in the mouth have been extracted or have fallen out. Partial dentures can be used to fill in for just a few missing teeth, they typically are secured in your mouth with small clasps. Replacing your missing teeth with dentures will allow ease of daily functions like eating and speaking.
They can be used for people of all ages and for people with or without natural teeth. Dental implants can be used to treat tooth loss caused by gum disease, decay, injury, or other dental problems.

Denture Procedure
A denture is a removable dental appliance that replaces the teeth on the upper or lower jaw or both. When you have lost your teeth and replaced them with dentures, you will notice that the new teeth will feel different from your natural teeth.
This is because they are made of different materials and are not connected to the jaw like natural teeth are. The denture-making process will include taking impressions of the jaw, upper or lower gums, and teeth to build the new set of teeth. Once the dentures are ready, we will instruct you on properly caring for them.

Benefits of Dentures
Dentures can be a solution for people who have lost their teeth. A dentist or oral surgeon will make a custom-made set of teeth that you can wear in your mouth. Dentures can help you eat and talk again if you have missing teeth.
They will also make your teeth look better. Dentures come in different shapes and sizes to best fit your mouth and the look you desire. You can choose the ones that look best on you. You can also get dentures that are fixed or removable. You can take them out and clean them regularly or have them removed by a dentist.

Denture Problems and Solutions
Charlotte Emergency Dental can help you with any issues with your dentures. It is essential that you visit the dentist regularly for cleanings and to have your dentures checked. This will help to prevent gum disease, bone loss, and tooth decay. If you notice your dentures slipping, fitting improperly, or causing pain, this may indicate that you need new dentures.
You should see a dentist immediately if experiencing any of these symptoms.

To keep your dentures in good shape and free from germs and odors, you should clean them several times a day. Here is how to clean your dentures: Immerse dentures in warm water, then scrub with an electric toothbrush and soak in a cleaning solution. Finish by thoroughly rinsing and allowing to air dry.

Loose dentures
If your dentures feel loose, you can try tightening them at home by snapping the clasps on the back together. If this doesn’t work, you may need to see a dentist to have them refitted.
Sore gums
If your gums are sore while you wear your dentures, the dentist may recommend using a particular type of gum massage while you wear your dentures.
Bone Loss
If you have lost a lot of bone and your dentures don’t fit properly, you may need to use a bone grafting procedure to add more bone to the jaw.
